Muchas especies de aves se encuentran en grave peligro de extinción en todo el Planeta, debido a la reducción de sus habitats y al tráfico y tenencia como mascotas.
No las captures disfruta de observarlas en libertad, cuida, preserva, respeta la naturaleza, planta un árbol.

Volatinero (Blue.black grassquit)

Es un ave pequeña, de unos 10 cm de largo. Presenta un claro dimorfismo sexual en el plumaje.
El macho es de color negro azulado, con las partes inferiores de las alas blancas. Las hembras y los inmaduros son parduscos, con el vientre más claro y rayado. El pico es anaranjado.
Principalmente se alimentan de semillas, aunque también de insectos.
Es muy activo, se caracteriza por los continuos saltos verticales que realiza desde su percha emitiendo un chirrido metálico, cuando salta se hacen visibles sus tapadas blancas, la hembra es mas pasiva, no salta.
Habita sabanas, pastizales y áreas rurales.
Las fotografías las tomé en la Ruta provincial 204 en los bajos del Arroyo garupá.


It is a small bird, about 10 cm long. Presents a clear sexual dimorphism in plumage.
The male is bluish black, with the undersides of the wings white. Females and immatures are brownish, with lighter belly and scratched. The beak is orange.
Mainly feed on seeds, although insects.

Carpintero campestre (Field flicker)

Así quedan en nuestra provincia la mayoría de las aves luego de bañarse en la tierra.
Todo se torna de color rojizo :).

Golondrina parda fotografiada al costado de la Ruta prov. Nº 34 de la Provincia de Corrientes en el transcurso del mes de Octubre.

Benteveo común (Great kiskadee)

Ejemplar de Benteveo fotografiado en la entrada de su nido. En la segunda foto pueden observar un insecto en el pico.
Este miembro de la pareja ( todavía no conozco la manera de diferenciar los sexos en esta especie) esperó unos metros mas arriba a que su pareja ahuyente un Tucán que estaba posado cerca del nido, cuando el Tucán abandonó el lugar, este se acerco para alimentar a sus pichones.

In the second picture you can see an insect in its beak.
This partner (still do not know how to differentiate the sexes in this species)waited a few yards up the other guy of the couple drive away a toucan that was perched near the nest, when the Toucan left the place, this was approached to feed their chicks.

Pollona azul (Purple gallinule)

Mas caminadora y nadadora que la pollona negra, nada poco.
Esta pollona tiene una llamativa coloración brillante azul violácea. El dorso es verdoso, el subcaudal es blanco. Tiene el escudete de color celeste y su pico es rojo con el ápice amarillo, sus patas son amarillas.
Mide 28 centímetros de longitud y habita ambientes acuáticos con vegetación.
El nido es una estructura flotante en un pantano. Pone cinco a diez huevos. Su colorido es crema con manchas color castaño.
La dieta es omnívora, incluye una variedad de plantas y materia animal, incluso semillas, hojas y frutas de plantas acuáticas y terrestres, así como insectos, ranas, caracoles, arañas, gusanos de tierra y peces. También sabe predar huevos y joven de otros pájaros.
Gracias al dato suministrado por Juan José pude fotografiarla al costado de la Ruta prov. 204 en las márgenes del Arroyo Garupá.

This gallinule has a striking bright blue-violet color. The back is green, the undertail is white. Gusset color is blue and its beak is red with yellow apex, legs are yellow.

Anó grande (Greater ani)

Arisco y oculto, bien definido en la guía, llevo ya hasta el día de hoy dos avistamientos de esta ave, siempre perchando en el estrato alto y sin poder obtener una foto limpia.
Lo he podido observar en el Jardín botánico de la Ciudad de Posadas y en el bosque que rodea al Arroyo Garupá en el cruce con la Ruta Prov. Nº 204.
Este cuclillo mide 42 centímetros de longitud, su color es mas azulado comparándolo con el Anó chico, y el iris es de color blanco oliváceo.
Es migrador B y habita selvas bosques y sabanas (siempre cerca del agua) en el Continente Americano, desde Panamá salvo Chile.
En la República Argentina habita en las provincias del norte.


Shy and hidden, well-defined in the guide, I have been to this day two sightings of this bird, always roosting in the upper stratum and unable to get a clean picture.
I have seen in the Botanical Garden of the City of Posadas and the forest surrounding the Arroyo Garupá at the intersection with Provincial Route No. 204.

Avistando aves en la Ruta provincial 204 (Birding in Provincial route 204)

Llevamos ya dos fines de semana recorriendo este primer tramo de la Ruta provincial 204, mas precisamente en el sector del puente nuevo sobre el Arroyo Garupá.
Gracias a la invitación del amigo Juan José Lopez, con quien compartimos esta pasión, nos dirigimos bien temprano por la mañana hacia dicho sector para fotografiar distintas especies que Juan nos había comentado con anterioridad pudo observar durante distintas caminatas que el realiza por dicha zona.
Desde la Ruta nacional 12 hay que recorrer apenas 2,1 km. para llegar al nuevo puente.
En la zona hay pastizales de mediana altura y el arroyo está rodeado por monte, se puede ingresar al mismo para llegar hasta el borde del arroyo.
El Motivo de esta entrada es mostrar un poco fotos nuestras desarrollando este hobby, ya que Juan nos fotografió a nosotros desde el camino mientras estábamos en el pastizal.
Las fotografías de aves vendrán en próximas entradas.

We've been traveling two weekends this first installment of the provincial route 204, more precisely in the field of new bridge over the Arroyo Garupá.

Mosqueta parda (Euler´s flycatcher)

Confiada e inquieta, esta Mosqueta caza insectos saltando o con un vuelo elástico.
La parte dorsal es de color pardo, las alas son negruzcas con notables filetes en cubiertas y en las remeras internas son de un leve color canela.
El pecho es ceniciento, pasando a blancuzco en el abdomen. La mandíbula es clara.
Mide 12 centímetros de longitud, para algunos autores está incluída en el género Lathrotriccus.

Confident and lively, this hip jumping or hunting insects with a flight elastic.
The back is brown, the wings are black with notable fillets on covers and inside the secondaries feathers are a light tan.
Breast is gray, becoming whitish on the abdomen. The jaw is clear.
It measures 12 inches long, for some authors is included in the genus Lathrotriccus.







Estaba posada muy cerca mío, para no asustarla apagué el flash y subí la sensibilidad de la cámara a ISO 1600, pude sacar estas dos fotos que ilustran esta entrada.

Esta foto muestra el ecosistema en el cual se puede observar a esta ave, es el único lugar del Jardín botánico de Posadas que cuenta con vegetación de estrato bajo.

Anambé común (White winged becard)

El Anambé común es un ave de tamaño pequeño a mediano, tiene cola corta y cabeza grande.
Mide 15 centímetros de longitud,
La hembra, a diferencia del macho parte dorsal es de color oliva, el vientre es blancuzco, el pecho es amarillo.
Ambos sexos al cantar emiten notas similares.
El macho es negruzco, tiene un semicopete negro brillante, el vientre es plomizo y pueden verse notables filetes blancos en cubiertas.
Habita el estrato alto de sabanas bosques y selvas en el norte y noreste de la Argentina.
En Brasil se lo conoce como raponguinha, bico-grosso-de-asas-brancas, caneleirinho, caneleirinho-preto, Caneleiro-preto.
