Verdón (Great pampa finch)
Primera vez que salgo del camino costero para recorrer los pastizales que bordean el Arroyo Zaimán.
Lo que pude escuchar y ver me dieron ganas de recorrer el mismo sector próximamente para aprovechar las primeras horas del día.

De 16 centímetros de longitud, la Reinamora grande se destaca por su color azul, su pico es negro y muy grueso.
La hembra tiene el dorso castaño y la parte ventral es de color canela.
Se la puede encontrar en las selvas y montes de las provincias del centro y norte de la Argentina.

Jornada de conciencia ambiental ( Environmental Awareness Day )
Gracias a la invitación hecha por Sergio Balatorre de la Municipalidad de Posadas, el día de hoy participamos de dicho evento realizado en la Plaza 9 de Julio de la Ciudad de Posadas, con una pequeña muestra fotográfica de nuestro trabajo.
Durante el transcurso del día delegaciones escolares y público en general pudieron apreciar algo de la abundante biodiversidad que se puede observar en nuestra ciudad.
Agradecemos por este medio a quienes con sus palabras de aliento y sus felicitaciones hacen que nuestro trabajo sea apreciado y valorado.

Picaflor vientre Negro (Black throated mango)
Esta es la segunda especie de Picaflor que visita mi patio, no lo hace con la misma frecuencia que el Picaflor común ya que aparece únicamente temprano por la mañana y con los últimos rayos del sol por la tarde.
Su tamaño es un poco mayor, mide 9 centímteros de longitud.
Hoy les muestro a la hembra, ya que el señor no apareció todavía.

Muy confiado y pasivo, hasta ahora es la única ave que no se asusta con el flash de la cámara.

Día mundial de las aves ( World Bird Day )
El Día mundial de las Aves se celebra por iniciativa de BirdLife International, quien exhorta a que esta celebración se lleve a través de festivales, eventos, exposiciones, conferencias y presentaciones alusivos a este Día. El objetivo primordial es no dejar pasar un momento en el año sin enaltecer y reconocer la grandeza de estos singulares seres vivos.
Por tal motivo se ha realizado una nueva jornada de avistaje de aves en el Jardín botánico de Posadas, en la cual compartimos esta apasionante pasión junto a nuevos amigos.

Charla de Aves del Nea en el Colegio San Alberto Magno
Dias pasados Leo y José visitaron esta casa de estudios para brindar una charla a un grupo de alumnos de este colegio, el material seleccionado despertó el interés de los chicos, los cuales participaron activamente durante el tiempo que duró la misma.
